Quick Question - Tier Set Bonus
Generally speaking,
2x 496 non tier
or
2x 483 tier - which provides 4 set bonus (as I already have 2 other bits of tier)
?

Re: Quick Question - Tier Set Bonus
aggixx answered this recently somewhere on this forum... 2x483 is better than 2x496 if it gives you the 4 piece set bonus. I don't recall by how much though. You can always run some sims.
Re: Quick Question - Tier Set Bonus
Yes the 4p option should be better. Personally I downgraded from 489 Crown of Opportunistic Strike, 496 Wrap of Instant Petrification, 496 Murderer's Gloves, 503 Legguards of Failing Purification to 483, 496, 496, and 496 respectively and it was a hefty 4k DPS gain. If you want to be certain you should run some sims like Leafkiller said.

Thanks.
I will have a look at the sims then. I had thought the 4 set bonus was a bit meh but if you got a 4k dps increase even tho you had lost some ilvl it cant be that bad I guess

Re: Quick Question - Tier Set Bonus
If its a single target fight that you don't have a lot of boss down time it only helps. Starting off with Rip at 20 just helps you extened it longer. Time off target fights are good if you were able to extended it a lot before having to swap targets. Don't think its a bad thing at all.

Re: Quick Question - Tier Set Bonus
On feng & will I'm able to keep rip up 100% to execute range. So far those are the only 2
So you're probably right, 95% of the time the 4sec extention is worth it.

Re: Quick Question - Tier Set Bonus
Going to add this here since my question is pretty similar. I managed to snag the last tier token I'd need for 4pc out of lfr. So what I currently have is 489 Red Smoke Bandana, 489 Softfoot Silentwrap, 496 tier gloves and 496 tier pants. I'd be "downgrading" the helm and chest to 483 tier helm and 483 tier chest. Would that be worth it? It is a loss in Agi (tho did *finally* get the last of my sigils and have the weapon ready to go), but I was kinda unsure if the bonus would make up for that.

As a side note, I really don't think I'll be seeing empress kills or much beyond the first or second bosses in ToES for a while yet.

Re: Quick Question - Tier Set Bonus
Only if you're replacing your 2 489 pieces for it, and even then it's very minor (150 DPS).
