Re: Gear list for SoO
Probably not. Last sim I did (iirc) said you need at least a 536, but a lot has changed since then so not sure of exact requirement. Hopefully will be able to answer that question sometime this week after I implement a bunch of APL updates.

Will keep an eye out for it then!aggixx wrote:Probably not. Last sim I did (iirc) said you need at least a 536, but a lot has changed since then so not sure of exact requirement. Hopefully will be able to answer that question sometime this week after I implement a bunch of APL updates.

Re: Gear list for SoO
Tazmon was nice enough to point out to me that the Halberd of Inner Shadows is overbudget (by about 40 points for the H WF version) which makes it better than the Kor'kron Spire. I've updated the list accordingly.

Re: Gear list for SoO
Red socket vs Orange may account for the slightly higher secondary stat values.
Re: Gear list for SoO
I simmed it already, it doesn't. Unless you're talking about budgeting, in which case I'd have to say that makes no sense!

Re: Gear list for SoO
Pretty sure it's just that the two secondary stats on Halberd are closer together than the two secondary stats on Spire. The formulas might not be the same now, but a while back it was determined that the total stat budget was calculated as the sum of the stats each raised to some power greater than 1 (here's one source), so the item with more disparate stat allocation ends up getting fewer total stats.Tinderhoof wrote:Red socket vs Orange may account for the slightly higher secondary stat values.

Well then... I guess that's quite fortunate for us!Stenhaldi wrote:Pretty sure it's just that the two secondary stats on Halberd are closer together than the two secondary stats on Spire. Re: Gear list for SoO
can't help but notice you guys are listing gear with a h/htf rune included in your setup... i myself won't have the chance to get a heroic or higher rune, so... my question is this... would this gear list be any different with a t16 trinket in place of the rune? it looks to be very mastery heavy already so, it looks good for non-rune setups but i'm just curious of your thoughts
thanks
thanks

Re: Gear list for SoO
What's our secondary stats looking like in bis(no hwf gear) for 5.4? How big will the rune proc be?

Re: Gear list for SoO
Just messing around with Catus for a few minutes. With full heroic gear with full upgrades no TF'd I got a 38712 mastery proc. That was with Rune and AoC. If you use TED instead of AoC it's 41892.
EDIT: With only a few minutes invested there may be some better combos I didn't find.

Garrosh BoA weapons can be upgraded, so that makes Hellscream's Pig Sticker BiS over a warforged weapon from any other boss by 2 item levels.

Re: Gear list for SoO
is it 100% that you get one weapon every week?
Re: Gear list for SoO
It's guaranteed the first time you get a BoA weapon it will be a Pig Sticker (assuming you have your loot spec set accordingly), after that it's random. I don't think they said that it's a 100% drop for the first one, that would be silly.
Re: Gear list for SoO
So just to confirm, my LFR Rune goes in the bin for 5.4, right? We tried one more time last night, but it still didn't drop on normal. So I'm going to look for 2 5.4 trinkets.

Re: Gear list for SoO
Looks that way, Sib.
My understanding: unless you have heroic or heroic TF Rune, the 5.4 trinkets will generally be better. That said, the better your gear is (ilevel wise) the better rune gets because it scales so well with stat increases.
I believe aggixx updated the feral guide in this forum to include the new basic trinket evaluations given a fixed set of gear (will be different of course based on your gear, but it should give you a good idea).

Re: Gear list for SoO
The list only includes atleast heroic rune, at what point would you recommend dropping 530 rune?
Re: Gear list for SoO
That is also my situation. My guild will likely only get into heroics half way through the tier and probably not all the way through (we are 4/12 heroics this tier but had some roster issues which hurt us a bit).
So I will likely be comparing my normal rune (which I only got last week) to normal mode (or lower) trinkets for quite a while yet. To further complicate things, my other current trinket is a Heroic Thunderforged Rentakis which stacks up well to the new trinkets as well.
Trinket decisions confuse me greatly

Re: Gear list for SoO
Anyone know when to break t15 4 set for t16? Got full HC t15, and got normal chest today t16. Damn that thing has a lot of red sockets on it

561 Chest and 561 Helm w/ your gear/talents/raid-buffed on standard Patchwerk is a pretty big gain: 5%

Re: Gear list for SoO
Hey guys, so I got the Pig Sticker last night and I'm wondering if I should go for the WF normal on other weapons before getting heroic ones or should I stick to this one considering it's not upgradable?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Gear list for SoO
If you can get your paws on a warforged normal weapon it is indeed better than the Pigsticker. A heroic weapon would be better than both of those options of course so if you've got other competitors maybe holding out for a heroic weapon isn't a bad choice.
