Question about taking high ILVL over better secondaries

Post by bacevicius » Fri Jan 13, 2017 6:11 am

I am assuming this patch was to make viable any higher ivl piece of gear over say gear 10 ivls lower with the better secondaries. Has anyone put this to a test yet? How much more is higher agi worth now that the secondaries got the nerf??

Pretty much. Trinkets are a bit special and require you to sim yourself as sometimes the ilvl isn't as important as the effect. For the rest, almost always that the raw item level upgrade is better. A socket is worth about 6 item level or so and 10 item level is pretty much a guaranteed upgrade. A 5 item level upgrade is a bit harder to discern and is dependent upon the piece and which secondary stats it has.

example using my weights:
Agi: 14.68 dps
Mast: 10.12 dps
Vers: 9.58 dps
Crit: 8.62 dps
Haste: 7.22 dps

Steelgazer Hide Bracers @ i845 (Haste/Vers)
731 agi (+10731.08)
507 haste (+3660.54)
248 vers (+2375.84)
------
16,767.46

Shorn Batbrood Cuffs @ i840 (Crit/Mast)
698 agi (+10246.64)
531 crit (+4577.22)
211 mast (+2135.32)
------
16,959.18

Almost equal but the Shorn Batbrood is slightly better despite being 5 item level lower.

nice Ghrell... i stil dont know, if the mastery is better then versatility Like you write and how many crit is perfect with BS talent

my is
Critical Strike: 35.96%
Haste: 6.46%
Mastery: 52.94%
Versatility: 3.60%

and if i look to other top feral in my realm, he has.

Critical Strike: 26.72%
Haste: 7.18%
Mastery: 58.95%
Versatility: 11.17%

with answer this question will be gearing much better.

You need to sim yourself and get your personalized stat weights, that's the only way to be sure what is best among the equipment you have. What someone else has is irrelevant. You have a lot more crit than the other feral so crit will almost certainly have a lower weight for you than the other feral, for example.

Once you have your own weights, put them into Pawn or ask mr robot or your own spreadsheet to see what's best. Ideally you'd redo your weights with every new piece of equipment.

Hi Metan,

Your best secondary stats will be dependent upon your current gear, spec, and trinkets. It's possible to have Versatility or Crit have more value than mastery as a feral druid.

I'm assuming that you're http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/d ... tan/simple is that correct?

If so your current weights are:
Agi: 15.30
Mast: 10.87
Vers: 10.43
Crit: 9.41
Haste: 8.3
@513k dps :: BS/SR/JW/BT :: 5 minute Patchwerk

or

Agi: 15.66
Vers: 10.79
Mast: 10.36
Crit: 10.29
Haste: 9.25
@510k dps :: LI/SR/JW/BT :: 5 minute Patchwerk

Raw stat percentages aren't terribly important for feral; just stacking crit/mastery isn't the best gearing strategy anymore.

Sure, its me... youre great.. thanks for your reply.

I was try some 3min (100mega fights) on training dummy and i have clearly same DPS with critical gear (36% crit) oriented dmg VS versatility mastery oriented gear (22% crit and many more mastery a versa).

So for this time i simply chose the higher ilvl and i try to catch some high ilvl rake relic.
