New legendary ring

It seems Blizz wants to add a new legendary ring that grants 'Soul of the forest' talent.
Thoughts?

I'd probably go back to fishing for feral rather than guardian legendaries. SotF would fix a lot of energy starvation issues.

I'm saving up Nethershards already on the off chance that a) that effect is final despite Wowhead saying they "are not complete" and b) it'll be part of the general legendary pool despite not having the "Unique-Equipped: Legion Legendary" tooltip line.

There's been some speculation that those rings will be the final class reward for the expansion. It seems some of these rings are better than others, but this one for ferals would be a game-changer. We could essentially drop our legendary gloves and ring and bring FB back into our rotations. Too bad FB will still hit like a wet noodle.

That makes much more sense than them being part of the general legendary pool. Although I'm not sure about "final" if they're really coming in 7.2.5 :)

I wouldn't be excited by the prospect of getting sotff. Energy starvation as you call it is somewhat a myth. Proper rotation execution results in pooling periods before rip so you can spam builders after to get ahigh duration AB proc. Adding sotf into the mix will cause you to literally become gcd capped and cause even more room for poor decisions to break down your dps. Also being a gcd locked spec is not fun, we had enough of that in wod, an experiment blizzard deemed a failure.

Lastky the ring just about doubles in strength when paired with chato. This is yet another issue blizzard stated they wanted to avoid (making his power gaos between lehendaries).

Yeah, I don't like being GCD-capped either. But personally I have been for a while since I haven't bothered to switch from SotF (for WQs) to SR for instances for a few months, so for me getting that ring would mean getting SR and becoming slightly *less* GCD-capped :)

Xanzara simulatef the rings together at 2% waiting on a single target fight. Dont get much more gcd capped than that.

And no offense but I don't think they should be meaning bis legendary balance around the idea of someine not feelimg like changes talents for world quest v. Dungeon. They need to be tuned for mythic raiding, where I really don't think people want a 1 sec gcd spec to be gcd capped doing > 60 actions per minute (some off gcd abilities bringing it over 60)

Why not? 1 second GCD and being GCD capped was one of the big drawcards for playing a frost DK in unholy presence, back in the day!

Hmm. I guess it's partially just a matter of preference, but it's nice to have a niche, and once upon a time I felt like being an energy class with a relatively loose rotation gave us the niche that our DPS was less compromised by periods of disengagement from the boss relative to other melee. Well, and in WoD I enjoyed using those free GCDs to spread Rejuvs and decide where to put my DoC HTs, but :(.

It'd be nice if they had some ability to offer two talent options, to allow two different playstyles.

Looks like Soul of the Forest is getting changed to 25 energy (5/CP) instead of 60 (12/CP) but also making finishers do 10% extra damage. Not sure if that adds up to be a DPS nerf or buff but I think it's a QoL buff, as it'll reduce energy flooding. Plus the extra energy from SotF will be more useful since it looks like FB is getting a 31% or so buff.

The new head piece that can proc Incarnation when using regrowth seems to be very interesting also. What I don't like is that those new ones seem to be must haves.

Same reason the Fiery Red Maimers have intelligence on them. Just seems baseline for any armour pieces these days.

For the same reason resto druids can wear the feral bracers and legs and gloves and belt and etc. They're still a lot of stats.

To be honest, an additional Inc proc would be too strong anyway, but my first idea was...wow, do they want us to skyrocket now?!?

With the sotf change this ring is a lot more palatable. You can use it if you want more energy pkaystyke but you likely won't be gcd locked, something like 8% waiting vs 20 ish in most setups. It's not looking op, but strong enough to be a viable choice, much like our other legrndarues. It's likely to be best on 3 target council pareid with clutch.

With the changes to SotF (+25energy at 5cp and 5% damage to finishers) will this ring still be attractive? At first glance the boots and gloves/luffas still sound way better.

It's my understanding that the gloves are never in the 'best' combo of legendaries no? I thought it was either Belt/Boots or Boots/Wrists.

The bracers look extra attractive with the 2p/4p T19 set bonuses. I'm not sure it will if you drop them.

I mean, I'd like to play with the ring, but I have a feeling I'll be trying to keep the T192p when I get T204p and stick with bracers/boots for anything aoe, and maybe boots/ring for more single target stuff.

Theoretical for me right now, I'm not playing while overseas for a month.

Seen Head+Ring combos for ST. Considering the Ring gives you more Energy to dish out more finishers, could be something to look into. Simming will be the best option.
