T15 Set bonuses

New 2pc is kind of "meh" design imo, especially that they decided to pick 15% as a value. Might as well reword it as "When you execute a 5pt finisher, you get 1 combo point back. Well, at least most of the time."

I don't see what they couldn't just make it so you get a cp if you get a ps proc instead of on the use of the ps proc. That would solve the issue of the old bonus favoring doc and not add a new rng factor.

I sim the latest T15 2p+4p as a 3% DPS increase over T14 2p+4p in same gear (this was 4% with the extra combo on PS consumption bonus).

This brings the individual value of the T15 2p bonus down from 3.1-3.6% to 2-2.5%

Relative to no-bonus (Aggixx's lastest action list, DoC, T14 BiS 2/2 upgraded):
T14 2p+4p = +2.6%
T15 2p = +2.3%
T15 2p+4p = +5.6%

(And the T15 bonuses are worth more than that considering they're still using the stats from the T14 gear).

I do think the previous 2p bonus, while technically very interesting for DoC (but cumbersome for HotW and NV), might of actually been pretty difficult to pull off in practice, especially for those last-minute "oh shit I need DoC /cast NS" typically occur at 5 CP, which would result in the extra CP being wasted. Definitely during Berserk/Hero phases or at the start of the fight, that extra CP is almost always wasted, whereas the new bonus never wastes the CP (except if it doesn't proc :X)

New 2p is now a 2.370% DPS gain down from a 3.302% DPS gain, or a 28.2% reduction in power. Lines up quite nicely with the numbers raffy got as well.

Edit: Those numbers were with my "T15 profile" which is a T14H BiS set upgraded 20 item levels.

I'm scared the new CP bonuses will suffer from the same latency issues our CPs from crit have. This would likely be tougher to work into a weakauras setup if it does

Kind of wish they would let us mess around with the set bonuses on the PTR for that reason, would help them get a lot of good feedback instead of just "I don't like this set bonus because I think it will be lame".

I imagine it won't have such an issue given it has a lot more in common with PS than primal fury, but I suppose we won't know until we actually get to try it.

So apparently you can test out the set bonuses on the PTR, you can buy the tier pieces for gold from Flaskataur Esquire at Niuzao Temple next to the normal tier vendors.

And for the record the 2-piece bonus is completely seamless. It looks like your combo points are going from 5 to 1, not 5 to 0 to 1.

That's good to hear. And I would guess that wouldn't affect your weakauras setup to get around Primal Fury latency, right?

Nope, there's no reason it would. The way it's designed is pretty much infallible.
