Reforging

Post by Arhat » Fri Sep 30, 2011 2:49 pm

Hey all - I am being reasonably successful Kitty. FL 6/7 (guild is 7/7). Gear is here: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/t ... hat/simple

What are people's thoughts on what to stack with reforging? Mr Robot ranks Crit/Mastery and Haste as equal ... then demands all my gear to reforge for haste. I used to stack mastery for the great bleed damage. The extra combo points from lots of crits gives great flexibility.

Currently I am averaging 20-22k in FL but I am sure I could be much cleverer with the reforges.

Looking forward to everyone's thoughts.

Arhat.

For Kitties all of the secondary stats have approximately the same value now. On the plus side this means you can reforge to suit whatever you like best, on the downside it really isn't going to do much to help your dps.

On straight up static "patchwork" style fights haste pulls ahead slightly. The longer you are off the boss and unable to do dps, Mastery pulls ahead as your bleeds will keep doing damage. Lots of people are Hit/Exp capping these days as it makes the rotation smoother to not have to deal with misses and dodges. Really though, it's just a matter of personal preference.

Just to add the hit/exp caps are 961(hit) and 781(exp)

You mean 781 for Expertise cap.

Not fat fingers, I type with the full paw...
It's 106 mile to Chicago, we have a full tank of gas, a half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses... hit it!

Just go with what Mr. Robot says with the hit+exp setup imo. It's very accurate at the moment. Full crit setup's generally yield the worst dps, and from my own experience mastery is only beneficial as a whole on Domo and Rag heroic (in places). For an all-round top dps spec, get close to exp and hit caps as possible, stack haste and balance crit and mastery and you'll do great on all aspects of every fight.
